Snowy Easter
07 April, 2007
I woke up this morning seeing the pretty unusual scene on Easter weekend. It was beginning to look a lot not like Easter. Yeah, light snow showers fell in our area early this morning. Would any songwriter begin to think something creative to be writing a song of "White Easter"? (Of course all of you are familiar with the song "White Christmas", the most popular pop song of all time).
About this unexplained-weird-weather, I would say that I witness again another God's great work of art that no one in this world is able to explain with their dumb theory how God's hands have made such awesome wonder!! God is truly the great creator.
Happy a joyful Easter, y'all!!

I can't believe he is still there!!! What a pity to see the better talented contestants who have been earlier voted off while this girly boy keeps getting on the show. Do you think his weekly hairstyle adventures have supernatural powers to get people voting him?

Our True Colors
16 March, 2007
Carmen, Ruthie, Susi, Geneth and Woldo
(no Carmen in below picture)
It's been quite while we haven’t seen each other until one day we set to meet together on our teacher's birthday. Carmen who made a first contact telling me when and where to meet, and of course she told also who else would come to our date. When I stepped into that restaurant, Woldo was greeting me with a big hug and a huge smile. He ushered me kindly to our reserved table. From a distance I saw Ruthie, our ex English teacher, and Geneth were in the table looking at me strangely as if they saw an alien from outer space. Then I figured out that Carmen didn't tell them that I would join the group to celebrate Ruthie's birthday. That's why they were so surprised to have me getting involved in such small brunch party.
For some reason, I would say four of us have a good chemistry that enable us to stay in touch, even though the English class has been closed almost a year now due to lack of students. I found it's always interesting among us while talking or discussing about anything. We could share our different opinions to one questioned problem that would end up with one mutual solution. Well, it's a no brainer for me to admit that they got brilliant in ways of thinking. Of course, we don't talk about gossips or something that I really feel bloating to hear about; for example showing off something or bragging inappropriately, etc. Although they are way older than me, I always have no communication gap. Another thing I feel interesting about them is they show how truly they really are.
On the other hand, I feel somehow some Indonesian "friends" (I put quotation mark here because I doubt to call them "friend") who I know living in this country regarding to a mixed marriage don't have a real personality. What I mean is they always say they are happy with that and with this, they adore their husband like goddess, they keep saying how good their life is, and any other personal things to impress me that they have found the happily ever-lasting life in the country where they have to live now. Unfortunately, I've never been impressed by the reality of what they say about. They are just phoney in my eyes!
In the end of my writing today, I conclude here that our friendship is like a rainbow. We came from different countries, we have different skin color and different hair color, but we truly find the beauty in our diversity. Yup, "Our True Colors" is the right thing to name the title.
...
But I see your true colors shining through
I see your true colors, and that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show-
Just show your true colors, true colors
Beautiful, like a rainbow

Signs of Spring?
15 March, 2007
This morning I heard the birds singing and chirping each other that I haven't heard these past three months due to winter time. After having a light breakfast, I took a short look at my little garden to see how the life is going on in there after severe cold weather. Surprisingly, I saw something bright come out of the soil in my flower bed. Yippie, my daffodils are blooming.
The signs of birds beginning to sing and the plants turning green put my mind into a question: Is Spring here?
I know, as you all know as well, the weather experts proclaim every year that March 20 is the first day of Spring. However, with the signs I've mentioned earlier, we could note that Spring is here. Can we account for this? You be the judge!
Cheap Controversy
12 March, 2007
1)"Raiders of the Lost Tomb": A book and movie allege the final resting place of Mary, Joseph and the King of Kings has been found. Spearheaded by a well-known TV director named Simcha Jacobovici, and produced by "Titanic" director James Cameron, "The Jesus Family Tomb" is—both in book and movie form—a slick and suspenseful narrative about the 1980 discovery of a first-century Jewish burial cave and the 10 bone boxes, or ossuaries, found therein. (source: Newsweek Feb' 07)
My comment to this issue: Is there any way you can say positively or admit it that Jesus Christ is the only son of God? Look whose work is this controversy? Yup, he is Jewish descent. Is this some kind of religion attack? Keep your faith, fellow Christians!
2) A new genetic study raises the tantalizing possibility that Thomas Jefferson (US President, the author of the Declaration of Independence) may have had Jewish ancestry. Researchers at the University of Leicester have found that the Founding Father's Y chromosome is part of a line known as K2; estimated to be about 20,000 years old, the line has been found scattered about Western Europe, notably in Iberia, France and Britain, but it is most prevalent in the Middle East. Since K2's European distribution "lacks clear structure," as Mark Jobling, a coauthor of the study, puts it, scientists aren't able to trace an exact origin. (source: Newsweek Mar' 07)My comment to this issue: Can you see who led the study? Isn't he Jewish? You got it! Another gold digger.

Bottom line is: they are all rubbish! How shame to know that money making scheme is behind their story.

Oink..Oink! Piggie Year?
20 February, 2007
The year of the golden pig has come!
In my country where I used to live, the celebration of Chinese new year has been admitted legally as a national holiday since 5 years ago (?). Though I am not a part of the community and even I don't believe about their superstitions saying that the year of the golden pig always brings good luck, money and prosperity in terms of wealth (being wealthy is always on their top rank, I wonder why?), all I know pig is a pig no matter what! I am talking about how good my breakfast is with the bacon strips and omelet on the plate, or how delicious it is to get baby back ribs bbq in Famous Dave's restaurant. As we all know that pig is such a dirty animal in the world, I can't help to eat them ..oh well! hihihi..

There are a lot of traditions associated with Chinese New Year, and so many of them have to do with food! Unfortunately I am not knowledgeable enough about any kind of menu they use to have during the celebration.
Anyhow, reading news about this Chinese new year has inspired me to cook Hainanese Chicken Rice yesterday. It was so good!!
